I just hope that it was just hydraulic fluid. Luckily, no one was hurt and nothing too creepy happened. This could have very easily turned into the true story for a very creepy horror movie. Imgur / uhhhnick Looking back at the silo from the other side. Luckily they never had to open for anything. Imgur / uhhhnick Here is one the silo doors. It was an open field that was pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Imgur / uhhhnick This is where the escape hatch let out. Imgur / uhhhnick Looking back down into the silo. Imgur / uhhhnick Anyway, back to the Silo… they came across this hatch. Imgur / uhhhnick A growth on top of a deep, deep cavern. Imgur / uhhhnick A hatch, but leading where? Imgur / uhhhnick Some ghoul or ghost forgot their shoe. Imgur / uhhhnick Random gloves, left in the great hall. Imgur / uhhhnick In the middle was a strange machine… Imgur / uhhhnick The “great hall,” one of the biggest rooms they discovered. Imgur / uhhhnick Another impassable, strange corridor. Imgur / uhhhnick This pile of trash, in the dark, looked like a man sitting and waiting for them… Imgur / uhhhnick It just added to the creepiness factor. Imgur / uhhhnick Some of the major hallways and rooms were flooded. Imgur / uhhhnick The bottom levels were not holding up so well. Imgur / uhhhnick The corridors smelled of disgusting sewage. Imgur / uhhhnick “Hello, Satan, I love you.” Imgur / uhhhnick This is the series of heavy vault doors anyone would need to pass to get through here. Imgur / uhhhnick As they went further down, the bunker became more and more decayed. Imgur / uhhhnick Possibly connected to the periscope pipes? Imgur / uhhhnick They were heavy and covered in letters that were difficult to decipher. Imgur / uhhhnick That last section was really similar to what one man found in an abandoned German bunker… Inside were doors like you would find in a bank vault seemed to be torn from their hinges. Or at least that’s what we all hope it was. It looks like blood at first, but turns out it was just hydraulic fluid. Imgur / uhhhnick At one point, they came across this. Imgur / uhhhnick Someone apparently tried to navigate the water with an inflatable raft. Below here was flood water about 20 feet deep. Imgur / uhhhnick At this point, navigating the treacherous walkways was even more dangerous. Imgur / uhhhnick Finding this in the darkness would absolutely scare me for life. Imgur / uhhhnick Who would come down here into the darkness just to graffiti the walls? Imgur / uhhhnick Others were just downright freaky looking. Imgur / uhhhnick Some of it was actually quite good. Imgur / uhhhnick The walls were covered in graffiti on the main level. This one was painted on with fluorescent paint for the eyes. Imgur / uhhhnick Another shadow creature. Imgur / uhhhnick More of thecreepy shadow creature. Imgur / uhhhnick Something is watching you. Imgur / uhhhnick This creepy, dark figure was painted in multiple places throughout the silo. Imgur / uhhhnick Some old machinery, maybe used for absorbing the vibrations of the generators. Otherwise it was just pitch black down there. Imgur / uhhhnick All they had with them were these flashlights. Imgur / uhhhnick Descending further into the silo. Imgur / uhhhnick Not to mention they were all pretty rusty. Many of them were falling apart or missing grates. Imgur / uhhhnick The floors, and walkways were accidents waiting to happen. Imgur / uhhhnick Inside the main chamber. Imgur / uhhhnick Setting off down a long, creepy tunnel. This would be about the time I turned around and went home. Imgur / uhhhnick Because of the age of the silo, everyone had to wear masks to keep from breathing in asbestos. It was capable of delivering a nuclear payload anywhere in the world. Imgur / uhhhnick The Titan I ICMB was an important player in the early Cold War. Here are the friends approaching the entrance to the silo. The Russian writing on/near the doors may indicate that this isn’t a Titan silo but a Russian one. Just wait until you see the “hydraulic fluid” they found. To say these pictures are creepy is a vast understatement. Last week, a group of friends thought it would be a good idea to explore an abandoned Titan I Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) silo in the Colorado countryside. ![]() That’s exactly what these friends decided to do. Near the top of that list might be exploring dark, creepy, and abandoned places. There are things you see in movies that you would never do in real life.
